Palo Pinto ISD
PALO PINTO – Palo Pinto may be a small town, but it is large in hospitality and history. Palo Pinto ISD is located in the county seat of Palo Pinto County, just west of the Brazos River and Mineral Wells.
Though small, the school district is a major influence. Palo Pinto ISD is most proud of its ability to successfully meet the unique learning needs of every student, especially at the beginning of a child’s education when the foundational skills are crafted and developed.
Each child gets a myriad of individualized attention, resulting in an abundance of student growth and achievement each year. Palo Pinto ISD has maintained its Texas Education Academic Rating of an “A” for several years, with a track record of earning most or all eligible distinctions.
At Palo Pinto ISD, every student is a name, a face, and a respected and valued part of the school community. The school district is highly ranked on sites such as niche.com and schooldigger.com, where Palo Pinto Elementary is ranked #86 out of 4,614 best public elementary schools in Texas. According to U.S. News and World Report, Palo Pinto Elementary ranks among the top 30% of Texas elementary schools.
The district is a structured Pre-K through sixth-grade single campus. The class sizes range anywhere from approximately nine-to-twenty students. The district’s enrollment has increased for the past three years.
Maintaining a small school atmosphere allows the school to have yearly holiday parties, a highly attended community fall festival, and educational field trips for growing and curious minds. PPISD recognizes that learning needs to be fun. The district prides itself with small classroom sizes, one-to-one technology, a safe and supportive environment, and reaching academic excellence ever year. Not only does PPISD staff take pride in educating their valuable Mustangs, but they aim to lay a solid foundation in confidence, discipline and enjoyment.
Like several county schools, Palo Pinto ISD cautiously implemented a four-day school week in 2022-2023, allowing Mustang families an opportunity for more family time. Many questions arose with this decision, though it was supported by 100% of staff and 98% of parents. Because PPISD is a district of innovation, the district believes it should take innovative approaches and the calendar is a primary example.
PPISD continues to fully invest in their students’ education and meet their needs while simultaneously providing at least the minimum state required instructional minutes. PPISD is constantly looking for ways to grow and improve to make the district the premier educational experience for all kids. The district welcomes public inquiry and strives to share news about its amazing the staff, students, and community.
